We get lots of questions regarding what happens at lifestyle events so let's see if we can clear up some of the anxieties.
First off, pub nights and meet & greets are the same thing and are basically just a no pressure way to meet others in a local, public setting. It's just like meeting a bunch of friends for dinner or drinks. They are a great social event for casually talking with others and making some connections. Some of them are closed events, that's a bar take-over. We close the doors and only those on our list get in (we have people at the door to ensure this). On a closed event you can expect up to 200 people! Others are open events, so it's a bunch of swingers going to a bar but the bar is still open for other customers too. For an open event, up to 100 people!
Dances are just that, a dance. They usually have a theme and are closed events. It's a great way to meet others safely but with a lot of fun thrown in. People sometimes get pretty frisky and there'll probably be some or perhaps lots of flashing, but they are not on-premise play parties, so no outright sex. Dancing can get hot and very sexual, couples can get intimate with each other but always remember we're on public property.
House parties or play parties: the rules are up to those who host them. But I can safely say that no one is "expected" to play. Always check with the host on any rules that they have and be honest where the two of you stand regarding playing. A guideline for yourselves: always make sure your spouse is comfortable and feeling safe and ask before you touch.
Cameras and Camera Phones: Bad idea, Do not bring them, Don't use the one in your phone, period. If we're thinking of having photography at an event (like Halloween for example), we'll hire a professional photographer and set him up with a booth off to the side away from the main area. NO exceptions.
Respect and discretion are always a concern for everyone.
Never take anything for more than what it is. If two people are making out, it doesn't mean they want a third, sexual interest is a two-way street.
Always remember to play safe and have fun!!
